About us

  • Becconsall U3A is part of the world-wide U3A network. The U3A or University of the Third Age movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides, through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery! Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.

Becconsall U3A meets in the Back Hall at the Hesketh with Becconsall Community Centre, Station Road, Hesketh Bank, PR4 6RS.

We have a growing range of interest groups and social activities. All costs are kept as low as possible so that members can take part in as many groups as they wish. You will find more details about our groups and activities on our website.

We have a weekly Coffee Morning on a Thursday between 10.00 and 12.00 when members get together socially for updates on our activities and to listen to guest speakers so if you would like to know more about Becconsall U3A, please come along and meet us.
