Committee responsibilities

The Executive Committee of Becconsall U3A is made up of four key officers – The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary supported by other committee members including Minute Secretary, Membership Secretary, Group Co-ordinator, Vice Treasurer and Webmaster. Here’s a brief outline of what some of the jobs that are vacant this year entail:

  • Vice Chairman

    • Know your members
    • Know the Constitution
    • Deputise for the Chairman when needed
    • Assist all Committee members
  • Treasurer

    • Keep detailed financial records
    • Ensure all financial decision are made at Committee level
    • Prepare a statement of accounts for the AGM
    • Pay invoices
  • Vice Treasurer

    • Assist the Treasurer in managing the accounts and records
    • Deputise for the Treasurer when needed
  • Group Co-ordinator

    • Liaise with Groups and Group Leaders
    • Support Groups
    • Help form new Groups
    • Report to and advise the Committee
  • Secretary

    • Share National Office mailings with the Committee
    • Prepare agendas for meetings and AGM
    • Maintain all correspondence files
  • Committee members

    • Get to know our members
    • Welcome new members
    • Help other Committee members
    • Help organise events
