Arnside Knott Walk

This Friday, 2nd October, we will be heading off to walk Arnside Knott in the wonderful Arnside / Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walk is approximately 4 miles long, following the Kent Estuary before going inland through woodland and then cutting through Holgate’s Caravan site before ascending Arnside Knott to reveal extensive views of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District Hills to the North. The ascent can be a little strenuous , but includes a well placed seat half way up and if we take it slowly should be quite manageable and well worth the effort. The weather forecast is excellent for walking which should add to our enjoyment.

On returning to Arnside We have the option of feasting on Fish and Chips at the famous Arnside Cafe or dining at the Albion Hotel which looks out onto the Estuary. We could even do Fish and Chips followed by a drink at the Albion.

To give plenty of time to enjoy the day we are aiming for an early start and so we will meet at St Mark’s Square in Tarleton at 9.00. Car sharing arrangements can be made at this Thursday’s Coffee Morning. Anyone needing to meet us there should aim to be outside the Albion Hotel in Arnside by 10.00
