Unique Story: – Elsie is a Centenarian from Tarleton! - 15 July: A Visit to Stonyhurst College: Join us on a Guided Tour of
Historic Building with Beautiful Grounds in a Stunning Setting. Cost: £11 (Car Share). Book with Gill Simpson. - 29 July: Another of Vivien Mumford’s Mesmeric Manifestations.
- August: We break for the Summer Holidays – Bon Voyage!
- 2 Sept: All Our Yesterdays! We Will Mark the Eightieth Anniversary ofthe Outbreak of the Second World War with a Display and Show and Tell Event to be held at Becconsall Old Church, so Dig out your old Photos, Ration Cards and Gas Masks etc.
- 16 Sept: David Beddow will deliver a Titanic Tale of Trouble and Strife >with ‘Eight Days of Hell’: Dave assures us that this will not be his personal account of Matrimonial Mayhem!
- 30 Sept: We’re on the road again with a Coach Trip to Lytham Hall for >a Guided Tour of ‘The Finest Georgian House In Lancashire’. Cost: £5 per person plus coach hire (to be advised)
- 14 Oct: More of Vivien Mumford’s Magic Moments In History.
- 28 Oct: Gill Simpson brings you a Hallowe’en Horror Story with her account of the Trial of the Pendle Witches.
- 11 Nov: Yet Another of Vivien Mumford’s Masterclass of Local Myths and Legends. What would we do without her?
- 25 Nov: Local Resident and U3A Member, Pat Hankin, will sharewith us the compelling story of her mother’s escape from the Nazi Regime.
- 9 Dec: Back by Popular Demand – Peter Ralphs will end the LocalHistory Year with a Highly Entertaining and Informative Quiz and Exposition:- ‘World History – A View from the Other Side’
